Pittsburgh Prison Book Project

Pittsburgh Prison Book Project sends reading material upon request to people who are incarcerated in federal or state prisons in Pennsylvania. We can help this project by collecting appropriate books, providing monetary donations, and volunteering to read letters, select books, and pack them for shipping. We will collect books and solicit funds at our November and December Assemblies.
Donated books should be new or in like-new condition. The following genres are needed:
- Arts and Crafts/ Hobbies/How to Draw/Music
- Coloring and Puzzle books (Wordsearch, Sudoku, Crossword)
- Religions other than Judeo-Christian (Wicca/Pagan)
- Automotive and Motorcycle
- Native American, Indigenous Authors
- Horror/Vampire
- Adventure and Detective (Stephen King, James Patterson, Dan Brown)
- Beginning language studies
- Spanish Language books Science topics (not textbooks)
- Novels with Black Protagonists
- Fantasy,
- Speculative Fiction,
- Sci-Fi
- LGBTQIA+ topics and authors
- Fitness/exercise
- Mythology (all cultures)
- Criminal Law/Black’s Law Dictionary
- Small Business and Self Employment Ideas
- Skilled Trade Instruction
- Coding and Programming
- Superhero and Manga Comics,
- Graphic Novels
- Paperback
- Dictionaries
