JOin PFC for the monthly lecture
What: These are more formal events with a predetermined topic giving participants an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the subject beforehand. It is often focused on ethical or philosophical matters with large areas of “gray” so as to merit discussion from differing perspectives, many of which are issues currently in the spotlight. The event features a moderator to insure that everyone has a chance to be heard.
East Group meets the 2nd Thursday of most months at Tan Lac Vien Vietnamese Bistro, 2114 Murray Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15217 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
South Hills Group meets the 3rd Thursday of most months at Sunnyhill Unitarian Universalist Church, 1240 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
What: This event is another community building event, but focused on adults. It is held at The Sharp Edge on Penn Ave. downtown. Again, it is an opportunity for informal free-flowing discussions about events and/or issues of the day, wide-ranging philosophical discussions, or just general socializing.
When: First Tuesday of every month at the Sharp Edge Bistro, 922 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh
What: This is a community building event that is an opportunity for like-minded people to get together for brunch, often al fresco weather permitting, in Schenley Square. It is an opportunity to socialize, have informal, free-flowing discussions about issues of the day, current events, or maybe catch up with friends on what’s happening in your respective lives. The park setting makes it amenable to families.
